Khepri
The god of self-creation, transformation, and rebirth, Khepri has an alarming appearance. His head is the shape of a scarab beetle--legs and all! Khepri also had the task of pushing the sun across the sky. The rising and setting of the sun are tied in to the ancient Egyptians' beliefs about the afterlife.
The ideas of rebirth and transformation represented by Khepri are alluded to in the gallery by the numerous representations of scarab beetles.
